Bocas Lit Fest - Cannibal Translations, with Adalber Salas Hernández
Thu 30th April , 2026
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
National Library - 1st Floor Seminar Room
Description
Translating not only means lending our own words to foreign tongues; it can also entail a sort of devouring. We incorporate and digest the Other, the alien — not to dominate it, but rather to be changed by it. The aim of this workshop is to explore the frontier between translation and our own writing: to produce hybrid literary texts that allow for two voices to coexist, ours and the other. Open to participants fluent in English and at least one other language.
Early-bird registration is TT$100 through Sun 12 April, 2026, and TT$200 from Mon 13 April, 2026.
