Steps and Strings 5k Fundraiser

Join us in celebrating the Parang culture, Community and Wellness!. We are proud to laugh our first ever 5k community fundraiser event - Steps and Strings 5k run/ walk, taking place on Saturday 11th July 2026 at the Sangre Grande Regional Indoor Facility, Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande from 3.00pm to 6.30 pm. Race starts at 4.00pm. Medals for all finishers!

This event holds significance as it forms part of the vibrant annual Parang in July activities - bringing together the energy of fitness, the richness of our Parang heritage and the spirit of family and community in one unforgetabble experience.

Steps and Strings 5k fun run/ walk is more than just a fundraiser its a movement designed to

• encourage healthy lifesytles and positive community engagement
• preserve cultural traditions and increase the public engagement with the parang culture
• provide a safe family friendly activity for all ages
• encourages the public involvement especially the younger generation (or young at heart ) in a combined immersion of music, culture and wellness.

We invite individuals, businesses, cultural groups and community partners to support this meaningful initiative through sponsorship, volunteering or promotional assistance. Your contribution will help us continue creating opportunities that strengthen our community and by extension our country while keeping our cultural heritage alive for future generations.
