Description
The Rising: an ode to the canboulay
Jouvert morning, watch the cane ignite,
We wear the fire, we own the night!
With open hands and stamping feet,
The drums of freedom claim the street.
Every thread of crimson red
Proclaims the words our elders said
We are the spark they could not tame,
A generations-deep, undying flame.
