Bocas Lit Fest - Poetry as Vessel, with Canisia Lubrin, winner of the 2026 OCM Bocas Prize for Poetry
Sun 3rd May , 2026
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
National Library - 1st Floor Seminar Room
Description
(Bring with you: three objects. 1) Something personal 2) something belonging to someone you love 3) something new to you).
The speed of the news cycle, the shock(s) of the times. For two hours, let’s attend to the feeling of being overwhelmed to make small, doable leaps towards a long song, and something more. Together we’ll build the scenes, stories, language, and soundscapes that combine, however possible, into a layered suite of poems. Using documentary techniques, we’ll think about the poem suite as vessel or response to times of rout, with small (and large) things that drum with the vibrancy of life.
(Online ticket sales end at noon Sunday May 3, 2026. Same day sales onsite are subject to space availability)
